| The Double-Headed Eagle today is a symbol of Russia. It was also a symbol of the Holy Roman Empire. And even earlier it was a symbol of the Byzantine Empire. The Byzantine Empire was the eastern half of the Roman Empire. Its capital was Constantinople, established by Emperor Constantine in the 4th Century. Constantinople fell to the Ottoman Empire in 1453. Constantine Palaiologos was the last emperor of the Byzantine Empire. He had a younger brother, Thomas, who had a daughter, Sophia Palaiologina. She married Ivan III of Russia and eventually became the grandmother of Ivan IV, the first crowned tsar of all Russia. Moscow became known as “The Third Rome.” I have written of this in previous articles. Daniel chapter two depicts the image of a man composed of different metals which represented a succession of empires representing, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome. The Roman Empire was represented by iron and would divide into East and West as represented by the legs of this symbolic image. I contend that the Eastern Roman Empire transferred to Russia after the fall of Constantinople in 1453. The Western Roman Empire after its fall was revived in the Holy Roman Empire and today is represented by Germany. Look up articles on “The Holy Roman Empire” and “The Third Rome.” You will find the Double-Headed Eagle used as symbols by both the Russian Empire and by the Holy Roman or German Empire. President Trump wants to end the conflict in Ukraine and other wars that add to America’s growing national debt. He also wants all NATO members to increase their share of the cost of the NATO alliance. As new leadership arises in EU nations, it is possible that NATO may crumble during Trump’s next term once Russia is no longer viewed as a threat. With less military support of Europe by the U.S., it is likely that Germany and others will renew relations with Russia. German industry is dying since it no longer has access to cheap Russian gas for supplying cost-effective energy in order to remain competitive. Which ten nations will eventually form the “ten toes” of Daniel 2 or the “ten horns” of Daniel 7, remains to be seen. The next four years could see some drastic changes on the world stage. We are fast moving toward some kind of central digital currency in the near future which will allow the government to have more control over our lives. We have seen the abuse of power in the last four years. Don’t think that abuse of power will end once Trump is back in the White House. Power in any form is the “opium” of the Elite.
