Editor’s Note: This article is either the same as or similar to the one titled “Eighth Day of the Feast 2024” which we found flaws in. So read this article with caution and with a bible as we believe it is also flawed. Laura Lee Dear Brethren, I’m sending you the Sermon and Sermon Notes for [Brackets]. We know that the Eighth Day is the last of the “Feasts of the LORD.” The Old Testament does not tell us very much about the meaning of this Day. Leviticus 23:39 … and on the Eighth Day shall be a Sabbath. However, the brethren of the Church of God are privileged to know the significance of this most glorious Feast Day which pictures the time when mankind will no longer be living in these temporary mortal bodies but will be resurrected to Eternal God Life. Today’s sermon shows us specifically what Jesus Christ and God the Father will be doing to fulfill the meaning of the Eighth Day. Editor’s Note: Yes, the eighth day would be the point in time when the rest of the dead are resurrected, however they are not going to be resurrected to “Eternal God Life” as you put it here. Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. The first resurrection happens at the 7th trumpet blast. 1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. Those in the first resurrection are raised to “Eternal God Life” because they have been tried and tested in this current sin filled world and God knows where they stand. The people in the second resurrection will be raised as regular human beings as we are today. They will be given approximately 100 years to prove or disprove their loyalty to God. Isa 65:20 There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed. In other words, each person that is resurrected on the eighth day will be a human and will live for a period of time and either end up in the Kingdom of God or in the Lake of Fire never to be seen or heard from again. The eighth day will probably be a thousand year period of time with many resurrections happening until all people left are resurrected and given the law of God to prove themselves. You can’t just go from being like Hitler when you die and then be resurrected to “Eternal God Life” in an instant. There is a process and certain criteria that God expects us all to meet before we can be resurrected or changed into “Eternal God Life”. Since scripture tells us there is a time order to these resurrections, we can probably expect there to be more than just two. 1Co 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 1Co 15:21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 1Co 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming. 1Co 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. In 1 Co 15:20-24 we see there is a time order to the resurrections. In verse 23 it says “Christ the firstfruits”, but most bibles have corrected this to read “Christ the firstfruit”. Then we know there is the resurrection of the firstfruits (the elect) and then when the thousand years (the millennium) is up there will be more resurrections. For those who have a problem with there being more than one resurrection of the dead on the eighth day, consider this. I did a google search and there have already been several resurrections of the dead which are recorded in scripture. Laura Lee The events immediately following the “Great Second Resurrection to Life,” describe the time when all of those billions of righteous people will receive the gift of salvation, and put on the immortality of eternal, spiritual God-Life. From our limited point of view, Jesus and the Father have existed from eternity past, and will forever exist into the future. God is not constrained by time or space but exists eternally. But God designated a particular point wherein man would walk the face of the earth in his quest to become eternal Children of God (1John 3:2). In this sermon we use brackets to define that interval between eternity past and eternity future. In order to understand the meaning of the Eighth Day, think of eternity past to eternity future as a long straight line. In the middle of that line insert a set of brackets enclosing the 7,000-year time period for the Plan of God for humanity on earth: < eternity past ____ [mankind on earth] __ eternity future > The moment will come when there will be no more earth (Revelation 21:1)! And yet, there lies an eternity beyond in which God the Father shall reign over His Children in Mount Zion from henceforth, even forever (Micah 4:7; Isaiah 9:7). God the Father will then be with His begotten Children — dwelling together for all eternity. We, the servants of God, are honored to know exactly how and when this transition will transpire. It will be glorious. Editor’s Note: There is a problem with when you say, “The moment will come when there will be no more earth”. Scripture tells us the following: Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. There will be a new heaven and a new earth according to scripture. Laura Lee The Plan of God is for mankind to enter the eternal and spiritual Family of God—not to live forever on a physical earth (1Corinthians 15:46). Revealed in the Bible is that man was created to be a member of the Family of God. Isaiah 65:17 Behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind. God reveals that He has been working to bring many sons and daughters to glory, and that will take place on the final Eighth Day when He will dwell with His sons and daughters. (Hebrews 2:10): Revelation 7:15 Therefore are they before the throne of God and serve Him day and night in His Temple: and He that sits on the throne [God] shall dwell among them. Revelation 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people… This Eighth Day sermon is all about the period immediately following the millennial “rest” of man’s temporary sojourn on this planet (Hebrews 4:4). That course for man on earth will be complete at the fulfillment of the Great White Throne Judgment on the Last Great Day when the final resurrection of Saints has taken place and Jesus’ work on earth is finished. The apostle Paul describes the next moment when Jesus relinquishes His rule over all the earth and transfers all rule and authority to the Father all Glorious: 1Corinthians 15:24, 28 Then comes the end, when He [Jesus] shall have delivered up the Kingdom to God, even the Father… And when all things shall be subdued unto [the Father], then shall the Son also, Himself be subject unto [the Father] that put all things under Him, that God may be all in all. Interestingly, God also reveals many details of the beginning before man ever walked on the face of the earth. His words are the plain truth! John 1:1-2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same [Jesus Christ] was in the beginning with God (Genesis 1:27, 2:7). Hebrews 1:10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning [the opening Bracket of the Bible] hast laid the foundation of the Earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: This beginning is the first bracket in God’s time-line. And surprisingly, God reveals details of the end bracket [the Eighth Day] of His Plan when man will no longer walk on the face of the earth. Hebrews 1:11 They [the earth and the heavens] shall perish; but you remain [Lord]; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment. For the purpose of this sermon, I refer to the beginning and the end as the brackets on either side of God’s work with mankind on earth—from man’s creation to his resurrection after the Great White Throne Judgment. The Great White Throne Judgment on the seventh day of the Feast of Tabernacles yields the great resurrection to Eternal Life when no man will possess his temporary body any longer because this mortal shall have put on immortality (1Corinthians 15:54). There is something extraordinary and diverse about the Eighth Day. It shows that no longer will man dwell in earthly bodies—temporary housing. (2Corinthians 5:1-2). Editor’s Note: The resurrection of the dead does not take place until the eighth day. I believe your timing of basic bible events is way off which makes this a very flawed article. Laura Lee We find that the Eighth Day of the Feast is in a class all its own when the first heaven and the first earth will have passed away. God’s Plan for man to become like God will have come to fruition (1John 3:2). The seven Days of creation point to the 7,000-year Plan of God, but the Eighth Day is not in the same category as the first seven Holy Convocations. From the very beginning, God intended that His righteous Saints dwell with Him in the high and holy place for all eternity. Isaiah 57:15 Thus says God, the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. *** The Children of God Working to bring the message of hope to a world in turmoil www.ChildrenOfGod.net and SabbathCoG.org Listen to past sermons by calling the Free Conference Call Playback Number, (667) 770-1688 and entering the Participant Access Code: 696903# + 417# Jesus Christ said that the Good News of His Father’s coming Kingdom was to be published among all nations. The original apostles did not fully complete that mission. “This Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” We wish everyone a spiritually profitable Sabbath Day.
