Let us join with others in praying for the hostages that are being held by Hamas in Gaza. May they soon be released and re-united with their families. “‘Not by force, nor by strength, but by My Spirit,’ says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. What are you O Great Mountain before Zerubbabel? You shall become a level plain!” (Zechariah 4:6-7). Zerubbabel was the governor of Judea after the Jewish captives had returned to the Holy Land to rebuild the Temple. A mountain can represent an obstacle or barrier to our mission. Does God listen to the prayers and petitions of government officials? Did He not answer the prayers of King David and King Hezekiah in their time of need? Indeed, He did. God is the same today as then. He does not change (Malachi 3:6). Will God hear the prayers of government officials today? Most certainly! Let us join with those government officials who recently held a candlelight vigil on the behalf of the hostages. Listen to their heartfelt prayers. I was happy to spot the Representative for my Congressional District, Mr. Doug LaMalfa among the group. I applaud his and the efforts of others in beseeching God for an answer to their prayers. I found this short video very moving and humbling: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2G8ITPpzQyA ———————————————————————————————————- See Dwight Fleming’s other articles at: Fleming, Dwight – Church of God, Bismarck (church-of-god-bismarck.org) ———————————————————————————————————- |
