| America has been blessed by the hand of God for a divine purpose. In the video linked below, you will discover just how greatly America was blessed by our geographical position on this earth. America is a fulfillment of God’s promises to Abraham and his progeny through Isaac. God promised to Abraham and Isaac and Jacob the land of Canaan where they could prosper and multiply and fulfill their purpose of being witnesses of God’s grace to those who worship Him, the only true God. Yet Abraham’s progeny would become as the sand of the sea in numbers (Genesis 32:12). This meant that they would eventually migrate to other lands since the land of Canaan would not be able to contain such a vast number of people. Before the Israelites took possession of the land of Canaan, God told them through Moses: “The LORD will make you to prosper abundantly–in the fruit of your womb, the offspring of your livestock, and the produce of your land—in the land that the LORD swore to your fathers to give to you. The LORD will open the heavens, His abundant storehouse, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but borrow from none. The LORD will make you the head and not the tail” (Deuteronomy 28:11-13). Why would God do all of this and more? “Then all the nations of the world will see that you are a people claimed by the LORD, and they will stand in awe of you” (Deuteronomy 28:10 NLT). That was the potential blessing, but Moses also gave a dire warning once the people had become prosperous: “Be careful not to forget the LORD your God by failing to keep His commandments and ordinances and statues, which I am giving you this day. Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses in which to dwell, and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all that you have is multiplied, then your heart will become proud, and you will forget the LORD your God … You might say in your heart, ‘The power and strength of my hands have made this wealth for me.’ But remember that it is the LORD your God who gives you the power to gain wealth, [Why?] in order to confirm His covenant that He swore to your fathers even to this day” (Deuteronomy 8:11-14, 17-18). Despite the many blessings that God has bestowed upon America making it one the greatest nations of all time, the curses for disobedience are afflicting our country to an ever-increasing degree. Will America wake-up and repent of its rebellion against God and His laws of righteousness? Ancient Israel and Judah failed to do so and suffered the consequences of their arrogance and disobedience. Time will tell if America will do more than give lip service to the faith that our founding fathers had in Almighty God who guided their worthy causes.
