Almost all who profess to be Christians these days believe that observing the weekly seventh day Sabbath is not the true Christian faith, and, presumably, thus not an aspect of what Jude calls “your most holy faith” (Jude 20, New International Version). Scripture says that at Creation “on the seventh day” God “rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done” (Genesis 2: 2-3, NIV). His work of creating, according to Genesis 2:1, was completing “the heavens and the eath … in all their vast array” (NIV)! A logical question for Christians who accept the Genesis record as Scripture — as I myself do — is: Do you believe that in the days of Christ’s apostles the Creator withdrew His blessing from the seventh day, or annulled its holiness? ———————————————————————————————————- See Jeffry Caldwell’s other articles at: Caldwell, Jeffrey – Church of God, Bismarck (church-of-god-bismarck.org) ———————————————————————————————————- |
